Position Summary
The Scientific Resource Center (SRC) for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Effective Health Care (EHC) Program is looking for a motivated, experienced, highly competent, and personable individual for the position of Project Assistant to the Leadership Team of the SRC.
The Scientific Resource Center assists AHRQ in developing a research agenda for outcomes, comparative effectiveness reviews (CERs), and appropriateness of pharmaceuticals, devices, and health care services as well as providing methodological support to the 11 Evidence-based Practice Centers (EPCs) in North America. Activities include: program coordination, research topic selection and development, scientific, technical and methodologic support for systematic reviews and outcomes research, collaboration with partners and stakeholders, development of Effective Health Care Program tools, and support for and development of methods to advance comparative effectiveness research.
The Project Assistant will be responsible for coordinating project staff meetings, preparing agendas, assembling materials, tracking action items and taking meeting notes; maintaining project contact lists; organizing and maintaining paper and electronic filing systems for project documents and research materials; processing travel authorizations, arrangements, and reimbursements for project staff; assisting the project manager in tracking deliverables and timelines, project calendar, project reporting, and maintaining project process documents; and assisting in the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, including editing, citation management, and the formatting of tables and figures.
The preferred applicant for this position will have a minimum of three years experience as an administrative assistant in a public health/healthcare environment; the ability to work independently; exemplary communication skills; expert knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; and expert ability in calendaring and e-mail applications.
