SUMMARY
This position will assist in the lab of Dr. Michael Heinrich, performing research of cancer treatment agents that target significant aspects of tumor biology. Please see our website for more info and our recent publications: http://www.heinrich-corless.net
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Protein expression and western blot analysis
- Mammalian cell tissue culture
- DNA preparation, extraction, and PCR amplification
- DNA sequencing and sequence analysis
- Site-directed mutagenesis, cloning, plasmid construction
- Media and buffer preparation, standard laboratory chores
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates for this position need to have some laboratory experience, preferably in any of the duties listed above. High degree of integrity and proficiency in sterile technique is required for maintaining cell lines, experimental troubleshooting, and data analysis.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or microbiology with at least 1 year of laboratory experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
English, written and spoken.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to calculate drug concentrations, cell numbers, molarity, make dilutions, etc. as they pertain to duties listed above.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.) required
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems pertaining to duties listed above
